It started out like any regular day with a whole list of things that needed to be done. I ran up to my Sister's to pick up a piece of jewelry I needed to deliver. We chit chatted about her oldest daughter's upcoming wedding and how I wanted her to have it at Lake Las Vegas because I had never been there but have been wanting to go. Then I told her I needed to go because I had two jewelry deliveries I had to make, one at 11:00 a.m. and the other by 12:00 p.m. Before I made the deliveries, I wanted to stop by our local AM/PM to fill up my gas tank since my Mother-in-law needed to borrow my van for the weekend. I arrive at the gas station around 10:45 a.m., pull up to the pump, grab my gas card, go to get out when my elbow hits something. Before I knew what had happend, the door slams shut. Then I realize....my elbow had hit the door lock. NOOOOOOOO! So there I stand with no cell phone, no purse and no keys, sadly staring in the window of my locked van. I decided to try every door. All locked. So then I proceed to act like nothing happend and start filling up my tank while cars began to back up behind my van, waiting for their turn at the pump. I spot a nice gentleman and kindly asked if I could borrow his cell phone. I frantically dialed my Hubby at work and told him what had happend and to please call AAA. I hang up, hand the phone back and then just stand there next to my van wondering what to do next. Why, oh why, couldn't this had happend in the Starbucks parking lot? Maybe the mall? Marie Callendar's, perhaps? No, I have to be at a pump at AM/PM. Ugh! So I decided to walk in and let the cashier know why I've been blocking the pump for so long. After that, I went back out to the van and tried to hide behind the pump, hoping that AAA would show up soon. Suddenly, a man walks up to me and said his car had ran out of gas about a 1/4 mile down the road. He needed to borrow a gas can. I didn't have a gas can and even if I did, he'd be out of luck since it would have been locked in the van. So there we stood together, two people in need. He seemed shy about asking people that pulled up if they had a gas can so I started to do the job for him. Finally, a man had one and the "no gas" man thanked me and off he went. A few minutes later he was back, came and checked on me and off he went again. So there I stood, alone, staring at the street, hoping to see a tow truck. All of a sudden, I spotted a familiar site, could it be? My husband's truck? It was! He pulled in with a smile on his face and a spare key in his hand. Nothing could have made me happier at that moment.

And so it begins......

Wow, me a blogger? Who would ever of thought I'd be typing about my life? And who would of ever thought I'd have the time? Well, actually, I don't have the time. I could be doing laundry, dishes, making my bed or any other of the numerous jobs Mommies have to do each day. But I am a fast typer and I have lots of interesting items go on in my life, so I guess I'll give it a whirl.
I thought I'd start by letting you have a sneak peek at my Husband, Jay. Now, he's generally a shy man but while he and I were on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, he asked me to tape a little segment for our kids. In seconds, I saw my shy Hubby turn into a great actor! Okay, not really great, LOL, but he made me laugh and that's what has kept our marriage fun all of these years.
Jay and I met when I was eight years old and he was 15 years old. Our families were friends from church. One day his Dad told him he had to babysit my brother, sisters and I after church, so the adults could go out for lunch. Well, this wasn't Jay's idea of fun. I remember the day well, him sitting watching T.V. the entire time and never saying a word to me. It wasn't until I was nineteen that he paid any real attention to me. But when he finally did notice me, within a month of dating, we knew we had both found the "One". Nine months later, we were married. And now, 17 1/2 years later, he still makes me laugh. :o)
